The Big Rosé test 2011
Date: June 26, 2011
Wines tested:
Cherry and strwberry fundamentals in Eszterbauer "Öröm" (happiness) rosé. Simple and classical. 69 points
The Le Calle from Tuscany show us a deeper profile with some sweetness. 68 points.
As I mentioned, the no question winner of today was the Mészáros Winery's Bubi Rosé, a sparkling pinot noir rosé. Light and playfull, the perfect substitute of summer beer. 74 points.
Frittman's balanced, raspberry rosé landed on the 2nd place only - but with a home-made CO2 injection (with soda stream) it could be the winner.
The Balaton Pinot Noir of Szaszi Winery is more flower than fruit. 72 pont.
Finally, the 2009 Rosé de Loire got a contraversial reception, a heavy rosé concept. 70 points.
