Egri Olaszrizling 2008. Zoltan Tarnoczi (Orsolya Winery) always tells me, that only wines from one vintage, one variety and one wine-region should be compared. He sais the small differences should be encountered. We don not share the same opiniion, so we always have very nice discussions about the topic. But this time I have followed his advica and we have tasted one veriety (Olaszrizling or Riesling Italian), one wine-region (Eger), one vintage (2008).

1, Gál Lajos Szó-Lá-Ti Olaszrizling 2008

Sweet nose, vanilla and creamy sugar. The taste is sweet and sour, like a chinese soup. Comfortable alcohol background, and small picking on tongue. Tight texture, like a chardonnay for English girls.

2, Orsolya Pince Olaszrizling 2008

75 points

Herbal nose with a little bit of sweetness and white chocolate, getting creamy apple in the end. The taste is honest, well balanced but not too long. Dance in the woods. Dance in the woods. Apple and pear in aftertaste.

3, Szuromi Pince Olaszrizling 2008

69 points

Delicius apple nose in the wine. The taste is strong apples and in the end some kind of … Apple tree in a good local pub. That’s all, but that’s good.
