Soon this word will vanish from European wine bottles. The french Champagne region has reached exclusive use of the expression on Champagne bottles. Whatever, there are other words to use. In 2002 the expression was still in use and these wines from three European countris can show, what a blend can do.

1, Rubeo Cuvée Reserve 2002

74 points

Red and brown color. Smoke and cognac in the nose. Later cherries soaked in alcohol. Long, kind of bizarre tannins. Cherries and plums in the middle and strong black tea in the end.

2, Curva Reserva 2002

83 points

Wonderful spices of the Orient. Expressive body in the beginning. Dark chocolate, cognac and creme brulee. Nice, hot and spcy finish. Sunset bridge.

3, Chateau Les Grauzils Cuvée Tradition 2002

73 points

Black and red color. Warm, aubergine nose. Thick, comfortable wine, but with a lot of acids. Fast, herbal finish. Well trained muscles.
